12 Step Programme

The NMKD 12-Step Programme is indeed one of the cornerstones of its addiction recovery approach, which offers a structured and time-proven route to achieving sobriety. The 12-Step Programme is based on accountability, personal responsibility, self-reflection, and mutual support, by which patients are encouraged to become agents in their recovery process. Participants have regular meetings and work progressively through each of the 12 steps: first, acceptance of powerlessness against addiction; second, seeking help from a higher power; and finally, atonement for wrong deeds done in the past. This builds responsibility and commitment toward the recovery process in patients.

Besides the steps in this 12-step program, NMKD emphasizes fellowship and community. Sharing of experiences and mutual support reinforces and enables the creation of a network of sober peers who can relate to the problems associated with addiction. This community minimizes feelings of isolation and provides constant motivation and inspiration to recover. The 12-step program at NMKD serves as a comprehensive support system to help the patient accomplish long-lasting sobriety and personal growth.
