Yoga and Meditation

Yoga and meditation are offered at NMKD to promote holistic healing and well-being during addiction recovery. Practicing yoga reconnects users with their bodies, enhances physical health, and relieves them of stress. Guided yoga practices help patients release tension, develop flexibility, and attain serenity from within. This physical practice of yoga—combined with methods for intentionally guiding one's breath—allows individuals to learn how to manage cravings and adopt healthier reactions to stress and triggers.

Meditation furthers this collaboration with yoga in clarity of mental focus and emotional stability. Guided meditation sessions at NMKD teach individuals how to quiet the mind and bring consciousness to the present moment. This mindfulness practice heightens one's awareness of thought and emotion and helps to reduce anxiety, improve emotional regulation, and enhance overall mental well-being. NMKD combines yoga and meditation in programs of recovery to help the patient secure a stronger body and mind on his way toward sobriety and to forge a life of balance and purpose.
